Pistons.....help

if i run a 13:1 compression will i need to use race gas or just pump gas.......

race gas, I have a 13:1 and it runs like crap even mixed 50/50 but it sure runs good on 110

wht is the highest compression i can use without mixing or using race gas...... like 12.5:1 or 11.5:1

Its not just the piston that counts you have to worry about your cam tooo.

I think you can run pump gas with the hammerhedz 12.25:1, but it is more expensive. I couldn't tell a huge difference with my piston, the pipe and cam were the main power gain, + the NOS

12.5:1 is the highest you can go on 93 Pump gas. Noone makes a "drop-in" 12.5:1 piston for the 04/05 450R's tho. CP makes the Black Widow and HammerHeadz @ 12.25:1 however. Those are kinda the biggest you can go safely on 93 pump gas.

I am dropping in a 13.1:1 Wiseco next week and will be running Sunoco Purple 110. I've seen a lot of the guys who have 14:1 running VP 116.

i gained a lot of throttle response with my 12.25:1 piston. i am not saying you will gain 8 horsepower with it. however, the thorttle response is much nicer and it will run through the gears better as well.
