valve clearance

there was a slight ticking in my 05 400ex so i checked my valve clearance and set them to my service manuals specs. after starting the bike it seems like the ticking is worse, i know there known to tick but this doesnt seem right. the bike only has like 40 hrs and the valves where set very close from the factory. any ideas anyone ?

I got an 06' and it ticks alot. it just seems to be the 400EX valve train.

mine has a hot cam in it and it is very noisy

Make sure you adjusted the valves cold and set them to spec and you should be fine. They all tick.
