I have just gotten a ?96? Honda 300ex, I replaced the starter and brakes and the like, but I am clueless as to the fuel switch postions, and this thing has NO labels. It's slap wore out.

I assume that full clockwise is one thing, middle is another, and full counterclockwise is the last, but someone help me as to which is which!!!!

Thanks guys!

If I remember right

Up-On
Down-Reserve
Horizontal-Off

Yeah, but with no markings, is clockwise up, or counterclockwise?

turn it counterclockwise for on, clockwise for reserve.

I've just ridden it around the yard and down the street once, I'll be taking it down to our Hunting Land to give a real ridin' either later today, or mor likely, weather permitting, tomorrow early AM!!!!

Aye.. look at the knob. Use the tab end pointed toward the rear/seat of the quad for reference.

Up = ON
Straight back, w/ a slight downslope (about -5deg) = OFF
Down = Reserve

Just repeating what the others have said.

Usually you have to turn the petcock so it's pointing slightly downhill to get it to turn completely off.. not perfectly level.

Easiest way to see.. is put it up on it's tail.. and adjsut it until the carb overflow stops dripping. Then mark the plastic so you know exactly where off is. ;)
