I plan on buying a street bike in the coming years. Prolly when im 18 or so, but I was looking into a CBR600RR or something like that. Any Ideas on insurance. Prolly going to be out the roof because I also have a truck.

Any bike reccomendations etc? Thanks

keep your record clean and buy the bike outright. if you have a loan on the bike you have to have full coverage. if you own it outright you can have liability only.

figure like 3k for full coverage at 18 on a 600rr.

i was 19 on a cruising bike with liablilty only at 850 a year.

if a parent or older friend is willing to put the bike on thier insurance that can save you some serious money. but they have to own it not you. just make sure they set you up as a driver. it will still make it higher but that way they can't get mad if you were driving it if something were to happen.

im 23 and my first quote on my 600rr with full coverage was 3600:( a year, i did another quote a month ago and it went down to 3 grand, but i bought the bike outright and i only have liability which is 599 a year, it just depends on the state/driving record, etc, just call around and get some free quotes and that will get you in the ballpark

Yeah, Ill prolly go the cheapest way possible since I already have a truck payment and insurance for it.

Anyone reccomend anything besides a 600rr? If anyone owns one let me know how you like it and how it preforms etc..

Thanks,
Randy

Progressive quoted me at 1600 a year and like 130 a month. How is that?

Is a 600rr a good bike? Does it feel and ride good? How does it preform and will I be happy?:D

Age...age.. age.. gender...model.. and location.

I know you're thinking, "that's crap". But, be honest.. if you had a CBR600RR what are the odds that you'd drive it below the speed limit 100% of the time.. and never ride a wheelie down the street?

At 31.. in KC my quote from progressive would be $34.57/mo.

Get an SV650 or FZ6, something along the lines of that. Still very fast bikes but the insurance is considerably less because it's not classified as a high performance race bike.
