Hey I was wondering if there was an easier way to pop and ride a wheelie on an automatic clutch quad such as the 250ex like I have? I usually but my right foot on the grabbar and hit the throttle.

On my old Suzuki 160 Quadrunner, I would just shift up to first and hold the shifter up, then rev the motor and let it fall into first. Once I got it up I could shift to 3rd or 4th gear. But I don't recommend doing this because its hard on the tranny and sprockets.

Don't do that. You'll smoke your clutch plates.
If you can't pop one up on a 250ex, (cause of the lite front end)then give it up. Words of wisdom.

yeah i used to do that untili took every tooth off of my sprockets and they were only 2 years old.

the best way i have found is to hold the brake in while its in 1st or second then let go of the brake and give it some gas while leaning back.

my friend has a 250ex he revs the engine and pops it into first and then just shifts throught the gears. after a ton of abuse his drive shaft snapped. i wouldn't reccommend you do this.

if you weigh enough put it in 2nd and go about half throttle and sit back quick on the end of the seat and give it (intertia) and it will pick right up, not to harsh on anything since its already in gear

heres what you do, i have Suzuki Quadrunner 160.

1. Put your right knee on the seat, keep your left foot on the shifter

2. Rev in neutral

3. shift up to first and pull up

so easy to get to pop up and can ride them forever, and theres no way to fall, just put your foot down and push the bike forward if it starts to fall back.

dude the 250ex has plenty enough of power to pop wheelies in first and second gear, u just gotta know how to position yourself on the quad and jerk up on the front end, i can get the front end up in third sometimes too. once u get it up it has a very large balance point and riding them is not difficult.
