Change the oil with rotella every 5,000 miles and replace the fuel filter every time you change the oil. My 01 powerstroke has 195,000 miles and is still running strong.

Like he said my 00 had 250,000 when i sold it to a friend at work two years ago. Had its guts pulled out almost every day with an 80hp chip. tranny went out due to previous owner running it out of fluid but no problems with it in 200,000mi. superduty's are good trucks... And im a chevy guy:eek: :D

I had a 97PSD. You cant go wrong with a diesel (Im shopping for another shortly). Like the others said just change the fuel filters and change the oil regularly. During the cold weather add and additive to the gas to keep it from gelling up. I also heard you could add a gallon or two of gas to every tank fill of diesel to do the same. I never tried it but I heard it from my father in law a truck driver who does this. NICE truck im getting probably the same but Xcab not crew.

Don't add gas to it. Most of these newer diesels are computer controlled and that could have some bad effects. Diesel already has some additives in it. If you are in a really cold climate add some number 1 diesel fuel but not gasoline.
As others have stated just do good maintanence and a diesel will last you for a long time.

all deisel fuel sold in the us must have the additive for cold weather. no need to add more. DON'T ADD GAS. bad things will happen even with just a small amount. it will make the motor burn way to hot and screw **** up.

like said, change oil frequently. get a good synthetic and run it 10K between changes. or get an Amsoil ByPass setup and run 50K+ on the same batch.

change the fuel filter every 5 or 10K

and use a good fuel additive. i like Stanadyne, but also had good results with FPPF Total Power.

fuel quality is so crappy there days that you need additives to keep your injectors happy
