Id say around $600 to fix up the motor.......depends on how the rest of the Quad is to make the deal

Lets just say, worst case scenario, the top end blow and dropped garbage into the bottom, so it screwed up both....how much we lookin at then??

if the whole engine is blown i hate to tell ya youre looking at more than 600-800 dollars...

especially if youre not going to be doing the labor...

better off as a parts bike

well, it just depends on how much youre picking it up for...

i havent priced out a complete engine on a 4 stroke, but theyre more expensive then a 2 stroke... and on a two stroke...

275 for crank and rod assembly
50 for a gasket set
125 for piston, rings, ets...
60 to bore it, a couple hundred if nikaseal
40 in main bearings
another 40 in seals

i dunno whatever else, i cant think off the top of my head... but 4 strokes are more complicated, and you have cams and valves adn etc to deal with, so there is more money in parts there... plus if youre not doing the labor, thats several hundred dollars right there as well...

so as stated, unless youre getting it for dirt cheap i wouldnt bother...

It all depends HOW damaged it is. If the rod or crank is bad, then something could be cracked, and the bottom end may be screwed to heck at the same time. if that's the case then the motors only good for parts, and id rather just buy a good used motor....
