Tint

I have a street bike, and I want my wind screen to be darker, so instead of paying $80-130 for a windscreen could i just use window tint. It's made of plastic so i figure i'd ask before i go and do it.

Hmm never thought of that..Yes it would probably stick, but would probably start peeling soon after..Not to mention that your winsheild might be pretty curved which just makes it even harder to keep the tint to stick..I say just replace the shield.

my brother had a yfz600 and my other brother with a zzr600 and my dads friend with a cbr600f4i all took off there windshields, taped the edges off, and spray painted the windshields black. it wasnt legal but it looked good and didnt cost much at all. my brother with the yama traded it in for a mach 1 and my other bro got a 636 and my dads friend had a baby so they all got rid of those bikes so no pics. but it did look good.

ok, well if i try it, and it starts to peel I can take it back off right "without ruing my sheild?" I dont want to paint it because i still need to see threw it when im on the tank going fast. But thanks any way for the tip.

yah thats my game plan, i'm just waiting for someone who knows about tint to tell me if it will come back off or not.

Yes you can get it off. Going to need hot soapy water, razor blade...After you peel off the tint going to need to scrap all the nasty sticky stuff off...So to sum it up, yes it you can take it off but it sucks.

I asked a guy at sundown window tinting and he said that he wouldnt tint plastic (windshield on my zx6rr) because he couldnt insure that it would stick every time so to me that says maybe it will and maybe it wont.

If you have any AMA superbike or such event you can get a smoked windshield cheap. I picked one up at Mid-Ohio for $58. Just an idea.

No races near me that i know of, I would love to go watch that, they have to be FAST!!!!
