Clutch problems

ok well i took my ex for a ride tonight and i noticed when i gave it gas and it got to mid rmps the clutch would slip pretty good then after a little bit it would grab. i know i need a new clutch kit. i was thinking about getting a EBC kit off of rockymountain but what iam wondering is if i would need the basket also. What are the signs that you need a new basket. is there any or you can only know when you open it up?

when you take it apart you can look at the basket and see how bad it is grooved if they are deep replace the basket.

how long would you estimate it would take to put in my new clutch kit? This is my first time that iam going to be doing this, but iam going to have a service manual and iam pretty mechanically inclined. Ive just never replaced a clutch before.
