I just wondered how does people come up with there numbers to put on there bikes, and how do you know if someone else has the number you want...

i know people have numbers that race right? noone else but I would like to put numbers on my bike just to have something on it but Not sure about picking something that noone else has...

Maybe I will just put one of my nick names on it..

:blah:

You can use a favorite number that you have had for a while...or your birthday, for ex. my birthday is January 24, so my number would be 124...

BUT, my number is 406...lol, just thought it would be cool cuz of my piston...

There only ever 3 digits right. mine would have to be 1126 lol
I had thought about 267 cause my bday is on the 26th of the month and 7 for i was born in the 70's also a few other #'s in mind.
But don't know, that why I asked if they was a way to make sure you wouldn't have anyone Else's numbers

many ways to get a number. fisrt off all single digits are off limits cause of pro's, but you are usually pretty safe with a 3 digit number. my number is 409. Why, cause i was tryin to think of a number for my demo derby car one year, walked in the house and a 409 commercial was on. i used it one year and it stuck, it is now my number every year, for my quad, and is in my user name on a few other sites.

My buddies is 191 (same as dustin wimmer) cause he was drag racing someone and hit a road sign at the end of where they were racing at, and the sign was for SR191.

alot of people use their birthdays in one form or another, just their favorite number, a number with some sort of meaning to them, a nubmer with a story behind it (like my buddy), or a random number (like mine).

Oh thats cool how you guys came up with them, so do you really not have to worry about having the same one as someone else? I mean I am a CB er and I know if you have the same handle(nick name) as someone else on there people get really ticked off about it my Nick name there is Red dog and I have seen 1 or 2 others with the same but I was around first...

I know stuff happens if you run into enough people its going to happen .

I could use my RC airplane license number its got 6 digs but I could pick either 3 sets out of the set .

havin the same number is no biggie. if you are at a race and someone has the smae number, just put an X on your number. EX. 409 and 409X so they can tell the two apart. no one is that possive of their nubmers (in my experience) unless it is an earned number for plaing in a series.

There's no real guarentee that you don't have the same number as somebody else. It's just chance, it's not like theres a "registry" somewhere.

However, chances are, as long as you don't pick something too obvious like "111" or "666", you're good. I'd be willing to bet that nobody in your circuit has the numbers "462", or "751", or "239", or...

You get the picture.

if someone does have the same number as you they will just put a X after your number with tape for that specific race

im a fan of double digit's..... my favorite number is 3. when i was like 2 or 3 i could name most of the drivers in nascar at the time(or attempt anyways), but i always got one name and number right. dale earnhardt #3.... i was just gonna go with 3, but my number is officially 33. i like it for some reason

No apparent reason. One day I was just thinking what number I'd wanna be if I ever started racing. 37 popped to mind and sounded pretty badass at the time(I'm not sure why)so I ran with it....I figure if I ever need to make a three digit, it'd be 371.
