Thanks to Garrett at FCI, I was lucky enought to get the opportunity to test the first prototype Fuel Customs intake. I'll be testing the intake on my 450R scheduled this Sunday on Precision Motorsports Dynojet dyno. The forecast ambient conditions should be ideal for the test.

The test will be performed on my DRG001 build. Details of my build can be found in the .org's dyno section. The internals are all considered 'shelf' components and represent what most of the HONDA owners may likely encounter performance-wise, in percentage, to gain using this intake

Baseline Runs:
1. stock carb, stock boot, stock box, DASA filter kit (with Pagram), no lid
2. stock FCR-43, NOSS, stock boot, stock box, DASA filter kit (w/ pagram), no lid
3. stock FCR-43, NOSS, stock boot, stock box, K&N filter, no lid

Tests Runs:
1. stock carb, FCI, no box, FCI filter
2. stock carb, FCI, no box, K&N filter
3. stock carb, FCI, no box, DASA filter
4. stock FCR-43, NOSS, FCI, no box, FCI filter
5. stock FCR-43, NOSS, FCI, no box, K&N filter
6. stock FCR-43, NOSS, FCI, no box, DASA filter

picutre

REMEMBER this is a not production unit. This is a prototype. The production unit will have a black power coated bracket

.....and maybe the tubes will be available in different color choices..

here is the inside radius of the filter flange...

the other filters I'm testing have a sharp obstruction to the flow into the tube... nice filter. I still like my filters tho...

I've also been told this will fit a stock box too, but i'm thinking the 06 because of the cutout. Either way, If I like the performance of the tube, I'll get an 06 box and throw the 04 box away!!!!

I was wondering if a box was compatiable. On a rec engine I'm not sure how I'd feel about the filter being exposed on the bottom like that [shrug]....

TRUE the configuration pictured (without a box) is meant for duners, draggers. If it can be boxed then i'm liking it thus far.

depending on how the testing does today, it may or may not fit yours hehe

we will at least test it out on yours, if it'll fit..
