whats it mean when your quad does this

ok i had my raptor floored for about 2 miles and then i heard a pop and my four wheeler died. then it wouldnt start after a few min. i got it to start but it would only run with the choke on. what could that be ofter that it was backfiring and throwing flames out the exhaust.
any tips would me great

Check your intake boots that connect the Carbs to the Motor....chances are it backfired through em and blew em off the connections....that would cause no intake vaccum causin no air/fuel mixture......a simpole fix if thats the problem

I hope you were "rich" enough on the top end or it could get ugly.

i know when i changed my spark plug it was black. i think that means it was running rich and white mean it was lean.
i think is that correct.

Black is rich white is Lean and Tanishbrown is GREAT!

Im guessing top end. I mean running ur atv wide open like that for an extended period is never good no matter what u ride

Forgot if the Raptor is 2-stroke or 4-stroke.

If it is a 4-stroke it sounds like your timing chain slipped. I would suggest checking your timing.

this might help ya i had the same problem i think i heard a pop noise when i tried to start it and the tube that connects the carb to the air box simply came off put it back on and CHECK UR OIL ohh by the way im not trying to be mean but that was stupid to have ur raptor floored for 2 miles no matter how new it is u cant do that
