Hmm, the hill your talking about is Huevos 4 in West Point tennessee and is simply called "The Wall". They say that the spot is Greg Little's stompin' grounds.

In that movie hes gettin some crazy air off that hill and flat landin' it.

Looks like fun. Are 450's good hill shooters and woods machines? Just curious. Im an extreme trail rider and im trying to decide which 450 I want to buy. I used to have a YFZ 450 but I hated the throttle lag, thats what pushed me to buy the fuel injected 700r, im leaning towards a ltr450.

Peace of cake.

My 06 450R with just an HRC kit will smoke a piped 700 Rappy as a hill shooter. As far as woods machine goes, just check top 10 in the GNCC series, about 7 out of 10 are on Hondas....

The land is leased by a motorcycle club, and they charge $60 a year for a family. However, it won't cost you anything for just one day.

It's not like they have a gate or anything. If a member of the club pulls up, he will ask you to join and then be on his way - no big deal.

If you are interested in riding there, PM me and I could meet you up there.

Good luck getting to the top. :D That's about 800 feet tall, and made of pea sized and larger volcanic gravel/rock "aka cinders". The base is also about 7,000 feet elevation, so hp is about 25% less than sea level.

I've only made it up on my old Banshee. My R got about 1/3 of the way up - I guess I need to mod it more :D

The club has had the land leased for close to two years now. They have a website, just go to Google and type in "NATRA", which stands for North Alabama Trail Riders Association. It will tell you everything you need to know about joining.

And yes, the logging has really messed up some of the good hills. There is still alot of land to ride, on the otherside of the bowl though.

Chuck, your 06 couldn't make it up $100 Hill? You must not have had paddles on or didn't rejet... You need to drop the main jet 10 (ie. 175 to 165). A rejetted 05 with HRC kit and paddles can make it up the easy (left) side no problem - up the center is another story.:)

sandmanblue
10-11-2006, 10:56 AM
Vader - I couldn't make it up the main path - the "easy" way - LOL

I didn't have it jetted right. Had a 160 in it and it needed a 165. I could feel it leaning out in 2nd gear and didn't want to push it. This was before my dyno tune.

I am also 6'1" 240....

It's not easy for a quad to pull my arse up that hill. Even my Banshee had to be wound out in 2nd from about 1/4 of the way up to very near the top. At that point, I had to clutch it to keep the revs up.

I wonder about my Sand Shark paddles too. They were brand new - had LOTS of bite - maybe too much...
