Get a 450R. I have seen too many YFZ's blow and break down. Last year at milville at our xc there wasnt a YFZ that finnished. One 450R didnt but that was from bad gas. JMO.

Its a Honda bias site. Most people are going to say 450r. I personally would rather have the Yfz, I've heard less problems with the Yfz then the 450r. Plus it looks nicer.

I'm not just sayin this cause I ride a Honda, but I would go with the 450r. They seem to have everything straightened out for reliabilty on the 450r. My friends YFZ which is an '04 grenaded on him a month or two ago now. Bottom end up, trashed. As far as the z450, not worth the money unless you are strictly going for motocross. See my mods below... Not bragging or boasting, but making a point, my quad which is set up for motocross too destroyed the new z450 this year at the fair drag races. They deffinately did not impress me along with many others.

I was in the same situation as yourself, my 3 options were honda 450r, yfz 450, suzuki r450.

i ended up buying a 2006 450r. the reason for this was i tried the others, i felt the 450r was the strongest motor and suited me best. i got it for 1500 cheaper than the other 2 new so the fact that the r450 was already race ready was irelivant cause i will be able to buy a lonestar axle and a arm kit with the 1500 and still have change to spare.

I recently had my bike out at a motox practice day i am not an expieranced motox rider by anymeans but when i burried the throttle on my 450r it pulled on the modded r450s which had full piped and induction kits

hope this helps as I was in ur position 6 weeks ago and it tricky making the decision. do not read reviews etc they are all bias! watch the GNC videos its all honda at the top! and go test ride them.

450r all the way hondas motors are bullet proff strongest motor out there and most reailble imo and many others.also ull b able to get it a lil cheaper . the yfz 450 1 of my buddies has and it is constalny having probs with it
