View Full Version : 450r front shocks w/ lowering kit

i was looking through the one huge thread full of pictures and ran across this picture of chevyz (i think)

it seems like it puts it back to the stock height while using the 450r shocks, would this be safe if i were to like weld the lowering kit into place so it doesn't move or anything?

well, if you welded it, it would never come off, unless you cut it or something. what do you mean, move?

they don't really have anything to keep them from moving up and down. like pivoting from the old shock mount

hmm, if you want to weld it, go for it, but i dont think thats a good idea. if i was you, i would fabricate a mount or bracket.

Yeah, it is mine.... is it safe (?), well that depends on what you are doing. I made them for drag racing... with the R shocks it was just impossible to launch the bike, even on the tank. I made these, and the difference was incredible. I just basically took the stock mounts and branched them out with steel plates. As far as big jumps, I would not recommend it, but I have been doing the smaller stuff without any problems at all.
