Recieved the arms tonight and am almost ready to prep them, but I need to know what color you would like:)

BTW...the heims came out no problems. Pappy has a b!tch'n wrench:devil:

Lowers firered and uppers i'd like in chrome powdercoat

so to keep with the same color scheme my bumper and grabbar have, or atleast close to it :)

I will be trying a new chrome pc on your uppers. If you have any issues with the coating please contact me, and also keep me informed on how it holds up.

over the winter I may send a few more small parts to be coated in this chrome pc possibly. Will have to see how it turns out.

You got the nut off the heim that was stripped correct ?

I got the heims out of the arm...I will take a look at the heims to see what the issue is

all the heims are free and working with the 1 heim was fubar. looks like whoever installed these went a bit to far and stripped the threads at the very end of the heim. I tried getting the nut to start so it could be removed but it freespins. id say 1 heim is all you will need.


when you get these back, take a wire wheel to the threads and apply some never sieze before installing them

I would...I usually order that kind of stuff direct from the manufactures so if you need them by all means order them.

Im expecting the grab bar any day so I can get started on it

The guy I sold my front end too got a hotcam and piston and wants to race me again ;)

I have yet to loose to that setup, raced 3 of them setup that way so far. I told him to go with the 04/05 hrc to make power right to the limiter as mine does :)

turns out I can just change the boots, didn't realize that. 22$ and change for 4 new ones much better than 4 balljoints would have cost :)

I could have sworn I took the tie-rods out of the box that my a-arms came in.
Pappy did I send them with the arms ?
If I didn't I cant find them :(

I just walked the shop and saw no tie rods of any sort that were not bent and in the scrap pile. Cody said he did not remember seeing them when he unpackaged the arms either.


To add, I was scoping the grab bar out and I think we have 2 options. PC the round bar and leave the rest alumiunum or pc everythink except the round grab bar portion and leave it polished (The second option is along the lines of what i thing you want)

I like the 2 smaller portions of the round part coated if possible, the center where the original grabbar was i'd like to leave polished.

I'd like all coated aluminum and part of the round part. I would like only the very center of the round part not coated if that explains it better

I searched everywhere no sign of the tie-rods. I went to there site to order some and they are over 100$. At that rate I might as well have bought brand new arms im only a bit under the original cost of them after all i had to replace.

Anyways im hoping maybe someone on here has a set they can sell me or they know a cheaper place to order some from. I need them to fit +2.5 inch arms.

The guy I bought them from says they were completely wrapped in paper. :(

I have 1 new heim joint, and I have all my balljoints. I need tierod's and I think thats about it. They need to be 16 inches according to lsr.

Doesn't look like I'll be able to make it to breesewood. My friend that I was counting on has a wedding to go to. His wife is already pissed at him from spending so much time working on his cannondales all summer. :(

Im looking forward to riding his speed soon. He put a +3 frontend on it and he had the motor stroked to 450cc. I think it should rip now.

I called LSR yesterday and they said they do not make anything but the SS units for the +2.5 arms.


Everyone else is at 15 1/4 so I would suggest ordering the SS ones on monday

they only show +2 and +3 on there site, should I order +3's?

The man I spoke with said they use the same tie rod for +2's as the +2.5 so I am pretty sure you will be safe with +2's.

Include a little note on the order explaining what arm you have!

doh I already was told by another guy to go with the +3 will put more meat into the rod end than the +2 would so I ordered them. I did leave a notation on which arms I have and my phone # so maybe they will call me.

I should get the rest done with tonight and tomorrow. If only my tie-rods arrive intime to go.
