has anybody done that reverse thing on the 300ex they say on this website about using something to pull it back all the time? if so does it hurt the motor or is it fine on it? i was wanting to maybe do that and replace my whole clutch and lever thing. thanks

yea i did it. it says on there that you can put the quad into reverse at any time but its not ture. ive never heard of anyone on here blowing a tranny because of the mod. if you do it and want to you REALLY should look at the MSR Raptor clutch and perch. its like 50 bucks but i love mine. you can adjust it for 3 diff. pull settings. 1st is 325% less than stock (thats what i keep mine on) 2nd is stock ratio and 3rd is short pull but its harder of course. the best place to get one is Rocky Mountain for 40 somehtin i think. its the best price ive found.

I've also done this on mine and I love it. No problems at all. I just need to get a new clutch perch now.

what did you guys use to pull the reverse thing back all the time? i was just thinking maybe some old cable or something. i think this mod would make a big difference.

I just used a few heavy duty zip ties. They've held for about 2 months of hard riding so far.

yeah zip ties are a very handy "tool". just as good as duct tape, if not a little better.

well last night i did the mod. i just took a couple of zip ties for now and pulled the cable down so it would be engaged at all times. i think it makes it easier and no i think it is a little easier to get it in neutral. hopefully later i will be able to take off all the stuff and put a new clutch/perch.

all i did was put an old wheel nut in between the lever on the case and it hasnt ever fallen out somehow and i also need a different perch

I havent done mine yet, but I plan on it, Was just going to take the 2 zip ties and some really tough wire and twist that together to make sure it stays. Good mod I think hehe.
