I will be going to Little Saharra here in a few weeks for Roost Fest and I was wondering what kinda sprocket combo's have you guys been using? It sounds like there will be some 300 foot drag races. Give me some tips. Thanks

I'm running 14/40 on my EX...i think it might be short because I hit the rev limiter in 5th in 280-300 feet. I think you would be fine with stock gearing. What size paddles are you going to run?

Jabberjaw,

You run 15/41 with 20". Have you ever run for time? I'm curious what times you run with those gears. Reason I'm asking, this is my first year drag racing, and I'm running 15-37, thinking this will give me better top end speed. If your gear works really good for you, I might have to try it. I need MORE SPEED!!!!

I think the best combo is stock gearing with 22" paddles!!!

I suppose that each person will like something different. I personally have tried many different combo's of tires, sizes, and gearing. I have wasted plently of money on figuring out the best for the dunes.

So far, in my book, the turbo paddles are the best. I also have a 450 in my bike, so my gearing may not work for you.

You should be able to go to your local dealer and tell them you were interested in this tire, and they can contact the dealer for them.I purchased them through"Western Power sports".they cost me 56.95 for ea. paddle.they are good durable paddles, they are one component instead of separate pieces, making them better wear, and they have a support in the middle of the paddle, they came highly reccomended to me and I love them.Anyhow Honda here in Idaho deals with these guys, so im sure you can get them.

just wondering what turbo paddels where? been on the dunes a while and never seen any thing like that out here in okla. also wondering if they are good paddles and how much they weight? i am sure you all understand about resipricating weight and mass in motion. for example gbc dune slider weight with alum rim 20.1 and a sand tires unlimited sand skate weights 13.9 grooved. just think of removing 12 pounds of resipricating and un sprung weight off your rear wheels? dont you think it would accelerate faster with the 12 pds off the axle? while of course along with a 10 to one ratio on the unsprune weight . meaning your quad would feel like a lot lighter. yea been around dirt circle track racing for more than 20 yrs and the principles of physics is all the same no mater what you are racing or riding. so to sum it up lighter is better 10 times out of 10 and that 12 pounds of weight, in a 20 inch base circle makes it free like you removed more than the weight of your crankshaft of your motor which weights around 6-8 pounds. thus faster accelerations and less rebound of suspension over bumps. just like moving a tennis ball up and down verse a bowling ball up and down, easy to see which goes up and down the easest and follow the bumps and which stays on the ground the longest thus more traction ,laterial acceration meaning more fun when you drive by your buddy and he doesent know why be cause you engine is stock just like his. ant knowlege fun "power" see yaw at sand fest

I couldnt tell ya what they weigh:confused: I have no clue, and the website is under construction,BUT..I did send an email to the warehouse to see if they new the wieght on them, I can tell you that they arent one of the smallest paddles ive seen but Our 400ex was the only Ex out at Thunder Mtn.(St. Anthonys) that could make it up the steep part out of 6 quads...The hook up is excellent, the ATV shop our by St. A's is the one that reccomended them. But other than what I have already mentioned, thats about all I can tell you about the tire.Ill post more ifo if I get a reply on the weight.
