no one makes a kit but the only way you could do it is out a xr400 enigne in the frame which would be way to much money for just a kickstart

couldnt you just buy an xr side cover and a kicker since it's the same engine?

I'm not sure if the XR kicker would have enough clearence to operate with the EX frame, rear brake lever, rear master cylinder, and rear fender. It's probably possible but I'm guessing there'd be a fair amount of fab work involved.

As a side note, I did see a 05' EX engine in an XR once. It had reverse!

With some amount of fab work the XR kickstart works on the 400ex. It's been done before, I'm not sure on what you need done to make sure it clears the frame but I'm pretty sure you just need the XR side cover, the kickstart gear and the kickstart assembly.

Yep...not sure if theres certain bikes that kick forward of not, i've never seen one.

On a buddy of mines Leager's CRF, I can't start it unless I flip the rear fenders up, your heel scrapes the plastic, then the plastic tends to hook your boots when you bring it back up.

there are many more internals that you need. in order to do this you need the majority of an XR bottom end. it is more complex than simply putting a shaft in and changing the side cover.

yes, the blaster motor is close to a dt200 bike, the banchee motor is close to a rz350 motor. the blaster lost liquid cooling and a pv for the blaster, much else was similar. And the blaster does kick backwards, kawi tecate motors kick backwards too, as they are very close a kx250, even use the same cases on the trikes, the quad had different cases to use a counter balancer, but much else was kx250 parts.
Most of your quad motors started in dirtbikes and stayed very similar, with the exception of electric starting and sometimes reverse.

ya ^^^ like the drz and ltz motors and the yzf and yfz motors. the dt 200 cylinder and head will bolt on to the blaster case. everything is there for the liquid coolind besides the mounts for the raditor.
