top speed 400ex

i have a 01' 400 ex with a k and n filter and 4 quarter size holes in the air box

anyone know the top speed?

here is the best way to find out. if you know a cop or have connections to someone with a radar gun, have them radar you. the last thread about this went on for pages, until everybody got tired of it. every bike and situaton is different. that is the only sure way to know.

considering a stock 400ex goes 67 mph i doubt with a k&n and holes in the air box you would be going 60-65!!!

that 67 mph is a average remember, some quads are going to go alittle faster and some alittle slower, but he is right find a cop i bet they would help you out as long as you do it in a safe way

my 400ex does like 175. My dad drove next to me in his pickup but could only keep up untill 50 but after that i would say i was doin 175.

I just changed my gearing around with a 18 tooth up front and a 20 in the back and I reached 130 mph goin up hill in the snow..:eek: :huh

You can buy a Trail Tech spedo and look at it when finished with the run to find your top speed. Mine was 62 on dirt, and it still had some left. On pavement I know that it would be faster, but how much?
