04-05/06 pipe?

will an 04/05 slip on pipe fit a 06 r stock header? thanks

OK, I think I can answer a few questions that you might have. A while back I asked if I could put an '06 HRC header on my '05 R. People told me "NO" But, Nobody could tell me why it wouldn't work. Well I came across an HRC header at a good price so I picked it up to see exactly why it wouldn't fit. When I mounted the pipe everything seemed to fit just fine until I tried to re-install the stock slip-on (or the can as you might call it). It seems the '06 header is longer than the '05 header is so different parts from different years DO NOT match up. However, I ordered an HMF slip-on for an '06 R and it bolted right up. In other words I now have an HRC header with an '06 HMF slip-on bolted right up to my '05 R. So, to answer your question NO the 04/05 slip-on will not fit a stock '06 header and hopefully I have given you a little insight as to why.:bandit:
