Do the fourstroke bike motors have the same issues with vibration that the non-counterbalanced 2 stokes have?

BTW these all look good with the aftermarket frames!

Hey, i havent had a vibration problem at all with any of my hybrids. As long as everything is tight and the headstay is on they are smooth as can be.

Thank you

broke
09-24-2006, 02:38 PM
Yes, it is an Outlaw. Shaffer Performance built the frame, no link swing arm, A-arms and stem. The frame has adjustable wheel base at the A-arm mounts. The motor is a 4mm 12 port RZ.

The company isn't well know but builds very nice one off stuff.

Thank you. I can't really say how much it cost to build because I bought the bike then put my own motor in it and parted out the one it came with. As of right now I have around $7000 into it. I haven't been beaten in a drag, but there are alot of faster Banshees.

heres another. I am waiting on a set of Lonestar T-Pin spindles that I am going to try and see if there is any advantages to them. Lonestar does not advertise the spindles but they did make them at one time. I will keep you all updated on this site once I have them installed and get some ride time.

gtilley45
10-22-2006, 12:26 PM
LSR used to advertise the T-pin spindles. I've got a LSR catalog that has them in it. It says

"EXTREME OUTLAW SPINDLES
These spindles are designed to eliminate you stock spindles and weak ball joints. The spindle is constructed from 206.0-T7 Aluminum Alloy that has higher structural properties than 6061-T6 Billet. You will see a dramatic increase in suspension travel. The spindles will fit all Lone Star A-Arms that currently use our ball joints. The spindle is set up to fit '89 250R brakes and wheel hubs. Kits come complete with everything you need except the A-Arms. $1495.95"

That is word for word out of the catalog. My LSR hybrid had them on it when i got it, but I sold them. I called LSR to get some bushings for them and they said they were discontinued. Here's some pics of them.

Hey Grant, the spindles I am waiting on are actually your old ones. LOL funny how things work out. When you inquired about the bushings does that mean these are loose and really worn or were you just replacing the bushings because? Let me know if you could, because I would like to know what I am getting myself into.

If all it is is the bushings I can machine my own if I have to or I have contacts at Lonestar and I may be able to get some made for me.

Dude, you suck!!! :D I'm just kidding man. I didn't really want to get rid of that front end, I think it would be cool to have something that nobody has seen. I just ran across a good deal on some DC-4s and I figured that would be a lot easier than trying to get some bushings made. The guy that does all my suspension work said he had a machinist that owed him a favor and he could probably get me some made. If I hadn't got a deal on the DC-4s, that's what I was gonna do. I really liked the way the quad handled with the front end on. I was just afraid that if I let the deal on the DC-4s go, the time to replace the bushings would come and I wouldn't be able to get any for whatever reason.

They aren't worn out so bad you can't use them, but they are definately gonna need replacing before too long.

Oh, and could you do me a favor? Could you ask your contacts at LSR if they still sell the airboxes they used to make for a no-link 250R? I don't care for the airbox setup on my LSR/CRF and I was looking for some other options.

tell me a few things..first off how's the RX balance out? i've heard from several people they dont have good track manners..

second, how do those tires hook up? I see alot of guys running them down here in Tennessee. give me a lil info if you don't mind.

kick@Ss bike man! i like it alot.. thanks, Shane

Thanks!

cant really help you out with the track manners since i havent taken it to a track yet...the only racing i've done so far with it is Ice racing (oval and TT) and the suspension works great for that...hopefully once the snow is all melted and dried up i'll hit a track or two with it.

the tires do hook up great....this is my second pair of them and we run them on my buddies R. for the price you can get them for you cant go wrong.

What Laeger frame are you running? For some reason the tubing looks to be a little bit larger in diameter than others that I've seen. Or perhaps it's the powder coating. Just curious.

Im thinking thats a LRD attitude(aluminum) frame with a laegers decal on it. LRD used to make them for laegers though. Some wierd sort of deal, laegers made the jigs and sold them to lrd to make for them, or something like that. I remember there was something like that going on. none the less that should be a sick setup!

Thank you
Justin

I originally thought that it was an LRD Attitude frame too, but the Laeger decal threw me off. That's interesting about the Laeger/LRD partnership; I didn't know about that. Hopefully jon370r will chime in with the verdict. Thanks Justin.
