I just got my 450R and went to budds creek the other day. I was very dissapointed in the suspension. It is very, very, very stiff. With the rebound all the way out it was still bucking me off the back.. I really would appreciate some help on how i should set this thing up. I will be racing again at budds soon and need a good setup. Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think most 450 owners are getting the link from GT Thunder or DeRisi and having the shock re-valved/sprung for it. The leverage ratio with the stock link causes the 450R to buck. I don't own one, but that's what I've read.

yeah, you will want to have the shocks revalved and resprung for sure and the link will help with the bucking. call Santo DeRisi and he'll build them to match your riding style and it's not that expensive

turn your rear compression down some too. I think for a quick fix you can lower your ride height with your pre-load. correct me if i am wrong guys...but if you don't weight much you can do this...MAKE SURE YOU TEST ON SOMETHING SMALL FIRST!!!

I have a set of 450R TCS rebuilt, triple rate, zps shocks I may be selling if anyone is interested. They are valved for a 170 pound rider and have recently been serviced with maybe 3 hours of riding on them. PM me if you are interested and would like pictures. Thanks!

One of my riding buddies recently got a 450ER and hated the suspension. It was way too stiff and he could never get it adjusted enough to feel comfortable. He sent all three shocks to C&D Racing (site sponsor) and got them revalved and resprung. He noticed a world of difference. I got my shocks from C&D too - they do good work and are very reasonably priced.

Thankx for the input...i will deff have to get them revalved or something cause i do have the preload and compression out on them all to make them as soft as possible...so i should go with c&d? How much are we looking here?

Our new 450r conversion is $700 for the full setup. Triple rate zero preload fronts with new valve bodies, travel extenders, multi stage valving, Dual rate rear with zero preload, new valve body with 1'' more travel and multistage valving. Our kits are fully tunable by the customer right down to dialing in the spring curve for your personal needs ( this can not be done on a single spring setup) Let me know if you have any questions

turn the rear rebound to H it will slow down the rebound and make it buck less!
until you can get them serviced.

mine is set to full H and is still to fast for XC!

what do you expect out of stock suspension i mean it is not set up for you from the factory so you need to get some revalves

I got mine from DeRisi racing and it also came with a rear linkage and i am very happy with em. Mine is for xc but he does mx rebuilds $725:eek2:
