For the last few years up until I got hurt 2 years ago , my weekends were spent riding my quad . Now that my YFZ is sold I have kind of drifted away from all the riding and have gotten back into the sport I used to do before the quads I owned came along .

Last weekend , my girlfriend and I headed 2 hours north of where we live and went to my parents home/cottage . To them it's their home ... to me it's still the cottage since it's my getaway from the city . Anyways , when we got there friday night , we unloaded , put the boat in the water and headed out fishing around 6 pm . By 9pm , we were back on the dock with our limit of fish and had thrown back a bunch of them . We mostly keep only the walleye and throw back anything else . That night we hit the hole for walleye and had a bunch of bass that we threw back .

Saturday mornign we were up at 7am and headed out speckle trout fishing in a small river . The weather was overcast and cold but we still put on the chest wadders and went out . We kept a few eaters , but threw back a bunch of little ones ... fishing wasn't the greatest since the water was really low . No fishing that night cuz it rained .

Sunday morning the girfriend and I headed out for more fishing . Once again the fish were biting pretty good and we kept a couple walleye and threw back a ton of bass . My girlfriend missed a NICE walleye that I bet was around 6 or 7 lbs . She thought she was snagged on bottom but then the fish came to the surface and revealed itself . The hook let go about 10 seconds after it had surfaced .

All in all the fishing was good this weekend . Last week my dad caught a 9lbs 4oz walleye and he's getting mounted . Oh I also went on a short ride with the Grizzly , and am happy to report my brake problem has been fixed .

Anyways , here's a few pictures that I thought I'd share . If anyone has any fishing pictures , post them up !!!

My dog Hunter deciding he's going to swim out into the middle of the lake to join us . It's a good thing Labs are good swimmers , cuz I wasn't going to jump into the water to save him from drowning ... especially not with work boots, a heavy hoody and jeans on . He was tired when he got back to shore !!!

Very little . My dad gets more use out of it than I do . I leave it up at their place since I don't have a truck to haul it around with , and usually when I go up to their place , I'm there to do some fishing , so the quad doesn't get used .

I'll start putting more miles on it come hunting season ... after that it'll make its way home so that I can use it to plow the driveway once the snow starts to fall .

I was wondering about his "friday night's catch, not big just eaters" statement:chinese:

I thought it was gunna freaking snow on Saturday . It was only 6 degrees celcius at around 5pm and it was raining . I was gunna gear up and go out fishing , but as soon as I stepped outside I was able to see my breath ... I said screw it and went back in .

The leaves are already starting to change colors .... perfect for hunt season which is just around the corner .

It's in a small little place called Westree ... 1 1/2 hours up Hwy 144 ... turn right at the Watershed Restaurant ..... or 1/2 south of Gogama .

Its weird listening to you describe cold temps, ice and hunting:p

It was brisk this morning here....still ramped up to 90 but i felt the first cool morning of what will once again be my favorite time of the year.

the pics were great greg, I wish more folks would post up some of what they do besides quads

Winter isn't too far away for us folks up here . Usually mid to end of October the snow start to fly ... in fact I remember going out for Halloween one year dressed up in a snowmobile suit under my costume with about 8 inches of snow on the ground .

Fall is my favorite time of year though .... I can't stand hot temps and I don't know how some of you guys can survive the 90+ degrees that you get . Our mornings have been pretty cool ( about 4 degrees celcius) , but it then warms up to low 20 Celcius , which is just perfect ( 20 celcius is probably somewhere around 70 Farenheit I'd guess) .

Thanks for the comments on the pictures Ken . I'll be sure to get more the next time I go up ... next time it probably won't be our fish limit , but maybe our bag limit of grouse for hunting season .... or a moose.

24 days left till opening day of the hunt . The countdown is on !!!!

BTW ... I'll try and snap a few pictures of the Grizzly next time I'm up there .... there's been a couple updates done to it . :D
