View Full Version : HRC Needle?

Is there a way to tell if the needle is stock or an HRC or other? Any special markings? When I bought my 450 it had a HRC end cap. I don't know about the rest of it. The airbox lid is stock lid.

I just pulled my needle and it looks like it says C51 and the fourth mark is really small an dlooks like a B? It has 5 slots for the clip.

Anybody know what needles this is?

the hrc needle has adjustment grooves on it, the stock needle does not

The stock needle on a 04-05 has adjustments too. If it is an 06 fcr carb the stock needle only has one clip position. I just put an hrc needle in mine, but I didn't look at a number. I do remember it having a lip about a half inch below the clip settings.

IS there a difference in the 04/05 HRC needles?

I was looking at the HRC needle and it appears to be much shorter than the Stocker in my 06 carb!

04/05 vs. 06 is a totally different carb so the needles (HRC or stock) are different.

oh yeah, the fcr's use a longer needle. the stock 04/05 450r, 400ex, etc carbs do not use that long needle. they are a different carb design.
