hi yester day i pickjed up a 250x for free! it sat out side since last summer with no spark plug in it. i stripped it down to frame and took the top end off the engine and its shot bad.. the bottem end is fine as it had oil in it.. any ways i was wondering what everyone thought i set a stock 300ex piston at the bottem of the cylinder and its deffinetly to lose for it.. it had a highcompression piston in it.. i then set a 330 piston at the bottem of the cylinder and it was to big.. so my question is can i bore a 250x to accept a 330 kit or should i just buy a used one at standard bore so i know were its at? btw my cylinder is all pitted and and rusty above were the piston sat it was a real pain in the arse to get the head off due to the piston being rusted to the cylinder.

Thanks

you can bore the 330 piston to fit, but it will only be a 296 in a 250x.

i dont plan to race it i want a reliable trail quad... would the 296 generate to much heat? i would like to stay with pump gas and keep it cool..

it should be ust fine. stay with a piston abput 10.5 or 11.1 and you can run pump gas

You have to get a big bore sleeve for an 80mm piston 0.236" overbore (74mm stock bore). It "may" be possible to get it in a stock sleeve.. but the sleeve would be paper thin and very very unreliable.

But, an 11:1 80m piston w/ bigbore sleeve in the 250x is a very nice , and very reliable combo. ;)

It should be ok on the heat side.. but an oil cooler never hurts. ;)

YEA THATS HOW I HAD MY OLD 330 SET UP I THINK IM GONNA GET A 300EX JUG AND RUN A STOCK PISTON OR A WIESCO 11:1.. IVE GOT A CAM STILL FROM MY 330 I THINK IT WAS A TC STAGE ONE OR 2 I CANT REMEBER WHAT ONE I HAD IN IT WHEN I SOLD IT

ok heres another question.... what would a 60 over bore bring it to and would that be to much for the stock cylinder?

thats not going to make any big difference, it might end up being a 251, lol reliability wise it should be fine
