I finally got a new quad after not having one after a year. I got this Friday night and it's not even broke in. I'm pretty impressed with it considering I had a Cannondale. It's completely stock but im workin on that. Bad news is though my buddy was running in 5th gear, 3/4 throttle down a field road and the left side got caught up in a bean field and it rolled 4 times. He broke his collarbone and got some road rash from the beans. I was on my other buddies '05 450R and I was right behind him. It rolled 3 times before it flipped over 10 feet in the air then finally came to a rest upside down. The axle, subframe, bars, bumper, exhaust is all bent and I think the front end is kind of tweaked. That'll teach ya not to let someone with more balls then brains to let them ride you $7000 quad. Anyone with a cheap factory rear axle PM me. Here's some pics.

OMG that sucks. I have a crazy stupid friend I never let ride my quads unless were in a 1 acre field with nothing to hit lol.

Friends don't let Friend ride your quad....

Well I only have a select few ppl I trust.

I trusted him. He had a Banshee and a KX125 and has been riding for years. He asked me if he could take it for a spin and I said BE CAREFUL. I told him if he wasn't careful that thing would be riding him instead of the other way around. Now i've got $600 in parts to replace and he can't work or do anything for over 10 weeks. I can say from now on, friend or no friend, noones getting on this thing even if they pay me to. He was lucky because he wasn't wearing a helmet and he went face first into the ground. I ain't gonna have someone ride my stuff then get killed on it.

check the swingarm bolt, subframe bolts, all bearings and bushings that have to do with bent parts, ex: the carrier bearings

Sorry to here that, I've had my truck dented with a quad and my helmet ran over and crushed by the same person. O well, anyone that wants to ride it can, if they can kick start it that is, hehe.

Atlest it made it two days and you got to ride it some. I know a guy that wiped out his 05R on the first ride bent and cracked the frame, and mashed his bumper.

Not to get off subject. I was reading in the Ranger Forums about a guy who bought a brand new Ford GT. He was driving it home and decided to see what it could do. I guess He hit a bump in the road and lost control and totaled it.!!!

The only way i let anybody ride my quad is i say if your break it you fix it someway somehow. I kinna keep from letting them ride it because i don't like having hard feelings because they didn't mean too but it still happend.

He should probly pay for that, or at least help you pay for it.. I would hurt someone if they did that to my Quad, no matter how new or old.. =P

i only let people i KNOW ride my quad. and they better have the resources to fix the damn thing before they ride it. make his *** sell something to make back your money. you break it you buy it period. hah.

Seen it happen often with new stuff and I could recount stories forever. Recently my bud let another experienced rider and good friend out on the trail with his brand new modded CRF450 and after about 15 minutes he finally rolled back with the exhaust and rear fender ripped off, subframe bent, forks twisted, etc., etc.

Damn, my brother blows up something on one on of my sleds at least once each season leaving me on the hook!

It's easy to say I learned not to let anyone else ride my toys but it's not so easy to say NO when it's a close friend or relative. I like to see them enjoy my stuff too. :D

Here, aftermarket, Ebay should get you hooked up with what you need for reasonable $. I guess it's a good opportunity to get familiar with your new bike! Add a service manual to your list of parts.
