how do i get more hp

im wanting to get about 50 hp or more out of a 05 450r... right now i have hrc cam 13.5 je piston and a nmotion pipe. going to get a head job soon but i need someone that has got 50hp or more to tell me how to get it..just plain out need more hp

50HP isn't a simple matter of a new pipe, or a new piston. Those kinds of numbers are certainly possible, but it takes significantly more than just slapping together a bunch of parts that somebody told you are the "best". Those kinds of numbers are found in the details. Head porting, valves and valve guides, custom ignition maps, things that go beyond the casual backyard tinkerer.

In short, you need a professional. Somebody that has done the flowbench research, played with different cam profiles, somebody that has tested several different engine configurations to determine which is best.

I'm sure you could get well over 40HP by slapping parts together in your garage. But if you don't know exactly what it takes to get the big HP numbers, my advice is to send it to somebody that DOES.

not to much worried about the money as long as i get what i paid for you know..i just want to have a good solid 450 that makes HP

Sure more hp is always funner but why 50?Is there a certain hill you need to climb that you cant do now?Will 50 hp help you beat your buddies?Having a motor that makes smooth easy to ride power with a broad torque curve will be much easier to ride faster for a longer period than a "pro national" motor that will only see play riding use.I have a honda 250 2 stroke mx bike motor in my quad and the 46hp it makes stock is more than im capable of using unless im in a drag race.:D I even make huge hills dissappear.
