I am interested in looking up a company that will make a liquid cooling kit for my 2000 400ex. it runs hot and would love to cool it down.

any info, on who what where when and how much would be sweet.

Thanks tom

please elaborate on running hot.

is it lean?

a bigger oil tank and/or oil cooler would be way more cost effective.

I know I've seen a post a long time ago about a cooling system for your 400ex.

I don't know if you've looked into the larger oil resivor with cooling holes, aswell as a bigger/better oil rad's. There are also air scoops that help get air to the motor/rad. A hood scoop could even help with a bit of cooling.

I'd like to try and get a fan mounted on mine. Doesn't really look like it'd be possible though w/ the way the steering stem runs down through everything.

Liquid cooling a 400EX is not a viable option. Four Stroke Tech did a 500cc liquid cooled conversion years ago but apparently it didn't work very well. And that was before the TRX450R, YFZ450, LT-R450, et al even existed. Replacing the entire engine (or the entire quad) would make more sense if you want liquid cooling.

On my ex I had a cfm over sized oil tank and omf air scoops, and it worked just fine.
if you bump up your jetting or run race gas you should be able to drop a few degrees.
but most ex's have no problems with over heating it must be another problem leading to over heating.
