"Help" changed piston and cam,now wont start with starter??

Just installed a je 13.5 piston and a hrc cam in my o6 450er,now it wont start off the starter??set timing in stock position.already double checked,now what???any ideas??i can pull start it with the truck and will fire and run just fine,then i shut it off and try to start right back and nothing,will run battery down and still wont start?seems like the starter is turning the engine over plenty fast to start??HELP....

sounds like a lean pilot. did you change any jetting

i know hard starting is a lean characteristic

two ideas:

Do you have a airbox lid on or off? If it is off, put it one and try to start it. If it starts then it is lean, like already mentioned. If you run a lid, take it off and see if it will start. If it starts then it was too rich.

If neither work, take the filter off, make sure stuff is clean, and try to start it. If it completely doesn't want to, then we are going backwards, but if it gets closer, then we are moving closer.

Are you sure you checked the compression release on the cam when you installed it?
