The frame is "beefy" because the oil resevoir is the side spars of the frame.

And when the frame is bare, its VERY VERY light, in my opinion.

How much do they weigh w/ subframe. My buddy has a Walsh 250r frame w/ subframe and it weighs 28lbs.. Felt pretty heavy to me but it is all gusseted by Walsh also..

It is interesting that thier frames are not lighter than steel ones but since they knew they they had to stand up to many years of racing they built them incredibly strong . It takes a major crash to break them. And when you take the time to polish a Dale frame they really do look sweet. One nice thing about running the oil through the frame is on those cold winter days the frame makes a good handwarmer.

My dad has a Cdale. We took the engine out and put all the upgrades in it. Yes there is alot of wires. We ended up pinching one. and had to fix it. Talk about a pain in the Arse

i have first experence with this since my quad is one of our old desert racing bikes...my brother shaun was racing w/ doug eichner behind him. he was going though a deep wash when he got sideway going through a woop section and hit a rock wall in the wash going about 60 mph. he hit his knee( required surgurey)
and limped it in to the next pit. our 2nd rider (Nic Granlund) finished the rest of the race by himself ( 200+) miles on the same quad and we finished the rest of the season with that frame. the fame is slightly bent from the crash but there are NO cracks in any welds and i still ride this quad today. the race was in 2002

I agree, Cdale/ATK frames are the only quad frames that I haven't been able to break. :macho
