rear stock axle nut the outer one....i need help bad!

i was wondering bout the stock rear axle nut on my 400ex what dierction is it and how many ft lbs i dont want to turn it the wrong way and strip my axle ya know i need help tips and everything is and will be greatly apprecited and what did you use to get the outer axle nut off pipe wrench cresent wrench or what???????thanks i will be checking this post all day!

The axle nut that is next to the disc on the right side is reverse threads. I use a BIG pipe wrench on mine to get it on and off. I did use a hammer and punch the first time about 12 years ago. Had nothing that big then. I get ti as tight as I can get it when I put it together and wrap duct tape around it to keep it from coming lose.
