Hope you enjoy the story. The Ridge Runners (http://rr.kyoutdoors.com/index.php?id=20) have free tour guides and plan their next days run at a nightly campfire. Tonight we're having a pig roast with all the trimmings. Now, come on to the number one place to ride, according to several ATV forums, magazines, publications, etc And if you've already been here, I know you are planning your next trip back!

Cutter said, "I thought I would share a little humor with you folks. Seems the Ridge Runners tend to be pranksters. This story is at the expense of one of our members but I don't think he will care. I did embellish it a "little" but most is true. Hope you enjoy.

" I suppose the time has come to tell the real story. While we were taking a rest break on our first day's ride, the guides, Preston, Ken and Henry, were telling Seth about a cave where bears sometimes take shelter. They poured it on pretty good, setting Seth up for a secret plan they had. While we rested and chatted about the ride and examined a very old family cemetery, Henry slipped off and hopped on his ATV and headed down the trail. Shortly afterward our guides informed us it was time to move on. They had told Seth we would be going by the cave and would stop and let him take a look. Seth had informed them he "was not scared".

We moved on and continued our ride but after only a few minutes we stopped again, this time just below what our guides pointed out as "The Cave". They encouraged Seth to go check it out. Seth bravely climbed off his quad and headed up the incline. Noble being a good father, quickly followed Seth up to the cave entrance, he was going to be there if Seth encountered anything wild and crazy. Of course, Rhonda, being a concerned mother was right behind Noble, being very spunky, if needed, Rhonda could whip the bear if it messed with her son. As Seth approached the entrance, cautiously, Noble right behind, Rhonda right on Noble's heels, a blood curdling roar came from within the cave. Seth, being true to his word, did not budge, he stood his ground with courage and determination previously displayed only by historic figures such as Daniel Boone and Davy Crockett. Noble however, turned pale, spun on his heels, shoved Rhonda aside and leaped from the edge of the cave all the way to the trail, and had someone not grabbed him, might have scurried all the way back to Evarts. Laughter broke out as Henry emerged from the cave with a big grin on his face, patted Seth on the top of the head and gave Noble a puzzled look.

Noble made every effort to explain his actions as being some kind of plan for a counter attack but from where I stood, there weren't any takers.

That's the "Bear" story from the way I saw it.

We've had people from all over the world ride our trails! They are second to none!
Now, of course everybody can't do this! There are novice trails and guides to escort you, be it extreme or a first time rider.
No 4 wheeler.....u can rent them here in the county!
Ya'll come, you hear?

I must say that Harlan county has the best trails with something for everyone, from easy to extreme. All the trails are marked according to how difficult they are. The scenery is breathtaking, especially when you are sitting on top of a mountain and watching the sunrise, or the sun set. The little town of Evarts has two FREE RV and tent parks with FREE electricity and FREE water. The Harlan County Ridge Runners ATV club www.kyoutdoors.com/hcrr/ will do whatever they can to assist you. They also provide FREE guides when you stay in the Evarts area. The people of the area will treat you like family and want you to have a happy and enjoyable visit. They want you to keep coming back again and again. They will show you what southern hospitality is all about.

I also have a rental house that I rent to ATV riders. You may visit my website below and see what my rental house looks like, inside and outside.
