which case has the trans oil drain plug? the previous owner over tightened it and the case has got hair line cracks...that sweat oil... can it be welded? ..any ideas....how bout that aluma weld brazing rod?

The drain plug is on the right hand side case. The best way to fix it would be to have it TIG welded. But that would involve taking the whole motor apart. Your best bet would probably be to JB weld it. You can JB weld at Lowe's or someplace like that.

I had the drain plug welded on my 300ex and it warped the case slightly making the center case gasket leak. I've heard of having the cases lapped after welding to make sure they mate together properly. Tear down+welding+possibly lapping=Lots of time. If I had it to do over again I would of just replaced my case and saved myself the headache of having it leak constantly afterwards.
