I use that exact set up. I cut a template on a pizza box and had a friend make ithe aluminum plate. It was so cheap that he didn't even charge me for it. I bought the screws and nylon-washer nuts for $2.00, and for the outerwears filter you can call their custom shop and they already have the template made. It's also water repellent and he sends you whatever color you want. I don't know how much they charge for it but I sent in that crappy velcro lid they make for an even trade so it should be around $15.00 bucks. I highly recommend this mod.

Why even run a lid.

If you don`t run a Lid there is a better chance for Dirt, Dust, Mud, and Water to get to your Filter and Motor. That is a good idea but way to Expensive but so are A-Arms.

I agree w/warrior..
And I am running a lid with holes rt now...so this setup would
replace it .."my motor likes to breathe "

I have way too much money in my motor ( ESR PV 310) for running it w/o some kind of extra protection ...
And this set-up seems to be a good idea ....
