how fast would your turn around be? and how would we go about paying you if we have to ship the frame off to you?

Pappy
08-24-2006, 04:38 PM
a 2 stage would be almost all the translucents colors and dormants or a solid with clear

turn around usually runs 2 weeks or less, and I will extend this for October. i have had several members also say thier season ends at the end of september etc.

most folks mail a check or money order, however i do accept CC and paypal

Pappy, this is a fantastic price. I was very happy with the quality of the work I recieved and the turn around time. Anybody considering powdercoating their frame should be jumping on this.

Here's a pic of my pile.

Pappy,

Do you have a color sheet that I can check out? I am actually tearing my bike down now and want to decide what color to go with. Thanks!

Pappy

I do, but even if I scanned it the colors are not a real good rendition of what the final color is.

Since you are extending this to october you should be getting my frame also. I am looking for a yellow, I really like the yellow that you did on the burgard a arms on the yellow and black YFZ what color is that?

Is there anyway I can pay you by October but wait to send you my frame until around November. I am going to try to hit a few late season races but I do want my frame done.

How much would it be to have it gusseted like the Project 450 and yours and tig welded I think it was? Just a plain red, closeist to Honda stock plastic. I want to send it between Nov-Jan.

Pappy

Around $375 Dave

pappy, what pc holds up best for XC racing?
would i be better off with a 2-stage, solid color w/ clear?

Pappy
09-06-2006, 03:20 PM
both seem to do well on frames

Ok im kinda new at this. Is that price just the frame, or is that arms, stem, sub frame, and swing arm too? What is gusseting, we are not motocrossers mostly just sand is it needed for the pc? On like arms and stuff do you have to have ball joints pressed out before sending it or can they be left in? Last one my wife wants her frame and lower arms pink and the upper and swing arm white. Is that still the same price or would that be extra?

Sorry for all the questions just want to make sure before I starte tareing a bike down.

Pappy
10-07-2006, 06:08 AM
That price is for a frame and sub(in the case of a TRX250r it is for the entire frame due to it not having a removable subframe)

Gussets are steel plates added in areas to add strength, if no gussets are wanted then its $175 for a solid color, $225 for translucents)

All parts must be 100% disassembled, ball joints, bearings, seals etc

Trx4Life

So what would it run me sending the entire set up swing arm, a arms, stering stim, etc... some parts pink and some white with clear, 04 YFZ?

no gussets just ride sand...

Pappy

frame & sub $225 (pink is a two stage, white base with pink top coat...and pink is also a color that does not work real well in a UV enviorment according to the manufacture. I havent used alot of it so thats all I can offer. I get skeptical when the powder states things like that but i try and be upfront with folks when dealing with a color I do not use every day.

swing arm $55
arms $55
stem $35

Does not work well in a UV enviroment???? Is that a fancy way of saying dont go outside with it ????
I appericiate the honesty do you know a paint that is as tuff as pc? She has her heart set on pink and I sure dont want a bike that has to stay in the shed, espicelly considering I dont really have one.

Pappy
10-09-2006, 02:46 PM
Yep, them is fancy words:p

i will make a few calls and see if there is something in a pink that I am not aware of.

i am not overseas but my cousin in washington was hit by a drunk driver and is now paralized so i moved from wisconsin to washington for the time being to help him out seeing he has to get used to not being able to do much for himself. unfortunatly there was no way of bringin my 450 or my vw corrado. i am comming back in february to get my state certification for firefighting.

Are you still doing this special?

would you be able to repair/replace an upper front bumper mount on a YFZ frame?

Pappy
10-30-2006, 01:21 PM
yes the special is still in effect

id say yes, but until i see it i couldnt be 100% on fixing it etc

parkers30
10-30-2006, 01:37 PM
OK, I believe you should see a frame in a couple weeks :ermm:

Pappy
10-30-2006, 03:39 PM
LOL..what did you hit:p

parkers30
10-30-2006, 04:00 PM
hit a tree with a PRM summit and did it in.... that was a while ago, I am just seeing stress chipping of the paint allover especially at the top of the subframe mounts which have already been fixed once, figured I would get it done right and be done with it, but I am not looking forward to tearing it down

Do you know of anyone who make the subframe braces? I know Gallager Sr. was making them at one point.

Pappy
10-30-2006, 05:11 PM
I usually gusset thiose areas and clam shell the main tube right below it. My brothers yfz was not going to be done thsi year, but thanks to a crack it will be now:p

parkers30
10-30-2006, 05:48 PM
so do you feel the braces are not necessary with your gussets? I am worried because I have cracked the right side once already and it seems to be stressing again

Pappy
10-30-2006, 06:13 PM
I dont think Ive ever seen any of the braces you are refering to. got a picture?

parkers30
10-30-2006, 07:50 PM
you've got a PM

Pappy
10-30-2006, 07:52 PM
LOL, I havent logged into that site for so long I dont remeber the password:p

i will try and get a pic of it and see whats up. From the sound of it, it may be overkill.

parkers30
10-30-2006, 08:08 PM
I'll save you the trouble
basically they seem to be designed to turn your stock subframe into a 6 point equivalent, they mount on the grab bar mounts and couple factory mounts on the frame

Pappy
10-30-2006, 08:11 PM
Im sure they move the stress point down lower on the main tube, which is where it needs to be. Not sure how well they really do though..no expierence with them etc.

I should have my brothers YFZ in here next week and I will try and show the repair I have to do for his frame.
