Half links are still available but you don't see them that often. I just bought one yesturday and the only time you really need one is if you mess with gearing alot or have the problem your having. An aftermarket carrier will usually let you adjust your chain enuff one way or the other so you don't need to run a half link. In my case my stock 86/89 250r carrier doesn't have enuff adjustment to run 2 different sized rear sprockets with the same length chain.

You can't because when u cut a chain it takes two links off at a time.

yep, I use them when I get in that situation where you can't get the chain just right. I get mine at a local Nut & Bolt store that carries all kinds of nuts, bolts, bearings, chain like industrial use type items.

Are you running an aftermarket swingarm or carrier? If everything is stock and you can't get it adjusted, it might just be stretched too far. You can still find half links, but you'll probably need to go to a specialty place. There was a good place when I lived in Vegas called Bearing, Belt, and Chain. They had everything.

I don't know about the other guy but I'm running a brand new chain. I'm running 14/37 and am switching to 14/36. With the carrier turned all the way tight its a little to loose and if I take another link out it will be to short so there is no way around using a half link if I want to keep using 14/37 and 14/36 unless I put my lsr carrier in my swingarm.

Half links can be found at your local dealership and cost about $2 for the 520.

what gearing did u change it to? my cousin on his 300ex had that problem, he went up 1 in the front and 1 in the back. then honda said that u cant do that 4 sum reason. ive never heard of half links til now. that would have helped out much back then.
