ive never actually rode in sand unless you want to count the creek riding and some small beaches....but no dunes...

how much play sand do you think id have to buy to get a good enough feel for it?:D

That is a pic of BUTTERCUP sand dunes. I think it is south of Glamis. Its all a part of ISDRA! That pic was taken from the top of the Hill that everyone races up at buttercup.

Glamis and Buttercup were DEAD when I went, cuz I was there for the whole month of July. TOO HOTTTTTTT, but when your having so much fun, you never notice the heat!

Actually it was the very end of the season. The date is wrong since my camera wasn't programed right. It was probably in late April if I remember correctly. I love Glamis when it's empty cause it's just open riding all day.. Of coarse on a Holiday weekend the parting is even better...

here's our camp.... you can see how empty it was on Gecko road. The pic is facing towards the wash away from the dunes...

Str8Wicked, you ever go riding in EL GOLFO, MEXICO? I went there one day while I was in AZ. The sand has some pebbles and stuff in it, so I would reccomend knobbies instead of paddles.

No haven't ridden there. I usually go to Mexico from San Diego since I live in Los Angeles. The closest dunes is Canta Mar which is about a 45 min. drive from the Border. It takes me 1 1/2 - 2 hours to reach the border. I'm about 3-4 hours from Glamis but it's too fuccin hot and Canta Mar is nice because it's right on the beach so you get the nice breezes and stuff even if it's hot..

Hope you can make it out to Glamis during the Christmas/New Years week, cuz thats when ill be there! Im probably going to ride everysingle day that I am there, But Ill only be at Glamis for one weekend, so most of my time will be spent at Buttercup since its closer!

Well, Im probably most definitely going to ride with FOORACER at Glamis for a weekend. Also, OLDNUMBERSEVEN sent me an invitation to ride with his group. This summer I ran into RUMMERD at Buttercup! And, just MAYBE I can meet a couple more poeple like 400THUMPER and STR8WICKED. :D

Yup, Ill DEFINITELY be there during the Christmas week! While Im here in NJ, im gonna buy a ton of bolt ons for my quad so I can install them as soon as I get there and get ready to ride again! This time Ill have my digital camera with me, so I can take more pics!

Yeah I should have my CT exhaust by Glamis time and I'm also planning to re jett and re adjust the throttle on the 400.

Hopefully before I can pull all the engine covers and polish them as well..

That's what I love about sand.. you can ride all weekend and the quad still looks clean when you get back besides a bit of dust... lol
