wont run

ok this bike has always started perfect. then i went to north carolina, took it off the truck it started right up, shut it off and got ready to go. it would not start. it turns over and tries to start but just wouldnt do it. we pulled it around for awile in gear still no luck. after it sat about 10 min. it started and sputtered and smoked a bunch, then ran fine but had a small tick sound form the motor only at idle. it worked fine the rest of the day.

today it started right up still had the tick then before it warmed up it died and it will not start. it tries but just wont do it. could my carb be cloged up of what? since it tries to start i would rule out spark, and gas.

any ideas, is there a oil pressure switch on these things, i noticed the oil is a little low??

I am thinking something with the timing or valves

check you timing chain tensioner

maybe timing chain is strectched
