I'm very interested to see what KTM has to offer. If the powerplant is anything close to whats in their bikes, it should be a good contender power wise.

My dad used to have a KTM 380 SX... Needless to say that thing ripped and I think he might of been a lil' scared of it:eek2:

Has anyone heard any news on how the new quad that featured the KTM engine in it is going? Like how the power is and all that good stuff.

I highly doubt it because they would have told you not to tell anyone. When people share secrets like this they expect you not to tell cause they will get in trouble. So if you do actually know them then they will prob not like you very much.

That's the problem about industry secrets, no matter how bad you want to tell people you cant because people actually have to sign contracts so they don't tell because otherwise they could get sued.

If you didnt have to sign anything they did so now they could get in trouble...

I dont know what you guys are talking about him telling BS. Everyone knows that KTM will eventually come out with a quad of there own, and the 525 outlaw proves that they are in the game, remember how half the people on this site thought that the LTR was a fake in the beginning? This ktm thing is just like that.

just my 2 cents

They completed the first 2 525SX quad prototypes about two months ago. They decided to scrap those and build a detuned 250SXF version because one of the test riders dislocated both his shoulders when he was doing 100 meter standing start tests. I think he was from France or something.:D

I beat the New KTM previews/specs will be out to the public before the end of next year. If you check out there dirt bikes they are extremely fast but don't handle like the other models. Lets just hope they make there quad good handling, guz I would not want to be on a KTM rocketship if it handles like a 200MPH Geo Metro.

Dale512
08-19-2006, 07:14 PM
The new 07 KTM 250SXF handles far better and is far more comfortable than the 06. I think KTM has made huge strides in the handling department for the new season.

No one will know any information about the KTM quad until they release the information, unless someone leaks info that they're not supposed to and in that case that person is royally screwed. A friend of mine works for Polaris and I knew about the Outlaw coming out with the KTM but he could not tell me anything about it, all he could say was it was a KTM engine in a Polaris chassis. So even a person that is a friend of mine couldn't tell me any information, so what makes you think someone is going to come to an online forum and tell thousands of people they don't know and risk getting into deep legal trouble?

As for the KTM Outlaw, that friend of mine has ridden it and all he can say about the power is that it's the most powerful quad he's ridden and the acceleration is insane. It tops out so quick he thought the gearing was really short, but it's just how fast it is. He had also ridden the Outlaw before and the IRS is very nice for those bumpy rides, so now it's even nicer with a good engine to back it up.

I do believe that KTM will come out with a quad of their own and the partnership with polaris only strengthens that opinion. KTM has no as in zip zero nada experiance in building quads thus the partnership with Polaris. What KTM does have experiance in is making some of the most powerful and reliable 4 stroke engines and two stroke engines around. KTM will use the alliance to get the basics of atv frame building and then they will go on their own. In a couple years you will see a very very competative KTM atv. It also means that the atv will come standard with better equipment than that of the jap competion. KTM bikes come with the best hydralic clutch, wider stock pegs, regina chains, and overall very very good equipment. This looks good for the quad they will build as well. Again this is my opinion based on the information readily available on the net, and I could be totally wrong.

Finally. KTM is gonna raise the bar. We deserve real race ready quads right off the showroom floor.

I know Cannondale tried but KTM will change the market.

Now, if Can-Am will put the Aprilia 550 V-twin in a frame, I can buy my next and last duner!

The quad market is awesome right now.

I completely agree. KTM has the potential to completely change the market segment. I have no doubts, that this will be the quad to have without dumping thousands upon thousands of dollars into it.

i agree trx440, ive put off buying a new quad several times becasue of what might be right around the corner

10-18-2006, 10:25 AM
yeah it sounds like things are finally picking up...KTM wouldnt hold back either, i always liked their dirt bikes, their sharp and now the aluminum frame fuel injection quad, the market is really picking up....now all the other companys will have to keep up

thats too funny, that "picture"of the prototype KTM quad, is a photoshopped predator, nice attempt....not..... quad look nasty, would be to put it with a hot hood, and shave the fenders, and put no lights in the plastics. They should do something like the HID lights from tral tech, and put them on the frame...........im looking forward to riding this beast, i know KTM will not let us down, as far as power goes.......although im not surewhat to be expected on handling, because it has been awhile, sine their last quad, and the bar has changed alot.......
