Any of the older members (50 +) remember what went down on this day 37 years ago ??? Actually it would have started yesturday , and today would have been day 2 of a 4 day event .

My dad actually flipped a coin to decide where he was going ... heads was Vancouver for work .... tails was this event !!!!!!! He ended up in Vancouver and kicks himself in the *** for not going to the event .

Hint : CCR , Janis Joplin , The Who , Crosby , STill , Nash & Young

That's right . Undoubtably the greatest concert and moment in music history .

I can just imagine what it would have been like to be there .... half a million people , amazing bands , friendly atmosphere and lots of mud . What began as a $6 ticketed event , turned into a free concert since so many people showed up .

And to think , with so many people , there was hardly any problems ( although 2 people died ... 1 of an overdose and one accidently run over by a farm tractor) . Surely Woodstock 1999 did not compare to the firendly atmosphere of 1969 .

I can only imagine what it would have been like. Music is a pretty big part of my life, well I listen to it a lot, and it doesn't get much better than mud, concerts, and lots of free love. :)

My dad went, he said it was the best time he's had in his entire life..

If you ask me they had it made growing up back then, badass cars, the best music ever made and they got away with so much back then

I agree Josh . My dad was 21 years old when Woodstock happened . He told me he was sitting in a bar with his buddy when they heard about the concert ... they had also just lost their jobs .... so that's when they did the coin toss . He regrets not going to the concert .

The stories my dad tells me about how they used to do things back then amaze me . If we tried to do half as much now days , we'd end up in cuffs and behind bars for a while .

Times have changed !!!!!:ermm:

Just think , if you were at Woodstock on this day 37 years ago , right now at 8pm you'd probably be listening to the Grateful Dead , which would have been followed by Creedence Clearwater Revival , followed by Janis Joplin ... then Sly and the Family Stone , The Who and finally Jefferson Airplane .

All in that order .

Talk about one kickin' concert !!!!!!!!!!!:eek2:

Probably the most controversial , yet amazing performances at Woodstock . And to think , Jimi played the last set to a nearly empty field .
