I am selling my Engine and I was wondering how to package it?

I usually package all my stuff my self. But I can not put a Banshee engine in a Cardboard box. Also about how much to ship? I am guessing $100??????

put it in a ruber made brand container. they are like 10$ from wall mart. put the motor in and put packing material all around it. then zip tie the lid shut. 75$ is about how much it is usually, I use ups.

use a old ice chest, secure the motor with packing wrap and duct tape it closed

buy a cooler or take on off yoru shelf. they are normally more careful with them then normal boxes. put old newspaper in the cooler around the motor and your set.

I use a rubber made tote from wally world. First i sprayed spray foam on the bottom, and let it dry(about 2''-3'' thick). Then i covered the motor in heavey duty garbage bags, then set the motor in the tote. Then i sprayfoamed the rest, and let it dry. Your motor will be safe unless someone drops it from 10 feet. My 400ex motor was 96 lbs and it was 100 to ship ups from CT to TX. You can get the sprayfoam at wally also. I needed about 5 cans of the foam.

I just shipped a 250r motor from Indina to Las Vegas thru UPS ground for $60. I think it weighed close to 70 pounds. I used a thick cardboard box with 2" thick foam around the inside of the box. Just made sure the motor was good and stable and not rolling around in the box.

That's a good idea Polcat. Maybe you can use some kind of filler under it so it doesn't use so much spray foam, seems like that stuff wasn't exactly cheap last time I bought it.

The rubber maid tote is the best idea. Make sure to let the person who buys your motor to buy insurance too. I purchased a cylinder & bottom end form here, and ups driver played basketball with it damaging the pro x 265 cylinder turning it into a paperweight. Thankfully I included insurance when I paid and it was a good thing.

DezSled,
That sucks what happened.

I was getting a quote price for the rear fenders of the banshee and for a 24 x 24 x 12 package they want $30 to ship:huh That is even small compared to what it is going to be in
