I'm wondering if what I've heard is correct. I've heard your axle should be a tad bit narrower than your front end. Is that correct? Can anybody give me any reasoning behind that.

400exMO,

That is how I like to run mine, but I have buddies that like the rear wider than the front. If you think about what is happening, the front is going into a turn, if you are narrower in the rear, it will just pull it through the turn. I know there is a more technical answer based on race car design engineering, but that is in simple lamens terms.

Hope that helps!

I've heard that too, but its more personal prefrence I think. My rear end is alil wider then my front and mine handles great.

Don't take this as I am saying run what the pro's run. But, if you look at the pro's bikes, they are all narrower in the rear. Not by much, but they are narrower.

Well unfortunantely my rear end will have to stay wider. I have the LSR axle as skinny as it'll go and it's 1/2" wider on each side. It's sitting 48" rear, 47" front.

narrower is better you don't have to worry about clipping trees and such with the rear
