I have an 06 450er.... Ive taken then baffle out and thats it. I get out run by everthing. i have 3 friends with stock 05 450rs and that bust me on top end. i have a friend with a yfz 450 (gytr header and pipe hes on top end also) i keep up with all them even 2 built 660s i keep up with on bottom end till around 3rd gear. and then i get my *** waxed. Any idea why? and im plaining to get the HRC sometime soon.


Also im like 6'4 300 pounds help me out here ppl

yes i know im fat but would that also slow me down on bottom end......... and it dont?

fat has nothing to do with it, pure weight does.

you may be getting traction where they are spining, then by 4th gear they are moving on and your dropping back. weight is very important in a drag race...or lack there of

understandable, but also this happend when my friend (one of the 05 trxs) rode it, done the same thing..... the hrc kit going to help me any?

all things being equal...id start with the basics and check everything (air filter, plug and jetting) if your switching riders and its still getting smoked there may be more to it. If it were eme, id check everything before adding a "fix" when it could be something very basic and simple. the 06 runs pretty strong and should hold its own.

If all the 450R's are running stock gearing, then that is the problem. The 06 is 13/38 the 04/05 is 14/38. I don't know if the 06 transmission makes up for it but that might be your problem. They are geared more twords top end.

weight yes. a factor, but taking the baffles out doesnt really help much either. sure it does help it breath better but for the most part it just makes it loud. hrc kit will help. so will an after market muffler rather than removed baffles.
