What is the advantages of putting a CDI rev box on a quad??? i have exhaust and an intake with a jet kit would it be worth it??? and is there one better than the other

If your don't have some serious motor work. i think the only advantage is you will have a higher topend with a cdi that lets you rev higher.

Some CDI boxes have a different ignition timing curve, so they might have a little better throttle response or low-end snap, but it's usually not a huge significant change, and it almost always causes more heat.

The original designers aren't stupid. The stock CDI works very well for the stock engine. A filter and pipe won't change that, the engine is still basically stock. By the time you hit the rev limit, your engine isn't making much power anymore, so why would you need to rev higher?

Now, when you start doing INTERNAL engine modifications, like a high-compression piston, an aggressive camshaft, valve and headwork, then you are changing the engine's characteristics. You might very well indeed be able to make good power in upper RPMs, above the stock rev limit. If that's the case, then it would certainly make sense to get a CDI that lets you rev higher, so that you can make use of that power.

But a simple exhaust and filter really don't justify a new CDI.
