Well, I bought my 2000 400ex new in the beginning of 2000, and the stock chain and sprockets are finally going to the big scrap heap in the sky. I think over six years is pretty damned good. Anyone got an older set than that?? Some of that OEM stuff is pretty decent.

Oh yeah, and I ordered a new Yuasa battery at the same time. That might be a record for a battery, too!

My 99 is still on the stock chain and rear sprocket (battery too!). As you obviously know, maintanence key....

The AZ climate helps too.

ETA: Ride-hours I'm sure makes a big difference too. Here in AZ, my quad sits for most of the summer. And I keep my battery on a tender much of the time.

Yeah, the low humidity helps with everything but windshield wipers. A new set of those last about 30 seconds.

^Yup, I agree with both you guys about the wipers. Hardly ever had to wash my windshield either till I moved to the desert. Living on the wet Oregon coast keeps a clean windshield, now living in the desert I replace wipers all the time and wash the bugs off constantly.:grr: :p
