choke not working

my choke was working fine and the I changed the handle bars and now it wont move, its stuck or something??? I checked the cable to see if it was pinched and it was fine, I also took the lever on the perch aprt that it was connected and with it apart I was trying to pull the choke it would not move. what could this be???

You may have not gotten the choke slide in the right groove on the switch box. If so it will act more like a clamp to your choke lever. My opinion would be to take it back off and reset the lever, or eliminate it all together with a carb mounted pull choke. Good luck.
