Well, my bike's still stuttering. I thought it was just the spark plug but i changed it today and it didnt help a whole lot. All the way till about 1/4 throttle it'll miss. Anything past that or when i gun it it'll clear up and run fine.. What could cause this?? The pilot jet or what?

ur pilot sounds a little rich. mess with ur fuel screw and try leaning it out. if it doesn't help, then go down a size or 2 on ur pilot.

Too rich? Its still the stock pilot, with the choke removed so i thought it coulda been a little lean there.. Im going to fiddle around with the fuel screw and see if that helps tho...Im running a dynojet kit also so i wonder if moving the needle will help any?

moving the needle shouldnt do anything for 1/4 throttle, it shouldn't even be in work at that time. It would be your pilot, you can try playing with the screw, but you may have a messed up pilot. If your bike is modded you should change the pilot anyways, just for better starts. A really good solution is quit putting around! give it the gas, let it rip. Sport quads aren't for putting around!:D

Oh i didnt mean putting around like that. I meant putting as in sputtering.. Also my riding buddies have a rancher and a foreman so i cant let it rip too long or i'll leave em:D .. It prolly is the pilot b/c its hard to keep it idleing when its warming up. To richen it up which way do i turn it?? ccw??

Step up to a #40 pilot.

I thought 40 was the stock size pilot for a 400ex.

38 and 148 are the stock pilot and main jet sizes, respectively.
