The weather was almost perfect with temps in the high 50's:eek2: at the track friday night when we arrived. The clear sunny sky's and mid 80's temp's had alot of riders out to BPG for some killer riding this weekend.

A local Xtreme dealer had wanted Cody to ride and review the 125cc version of this quad, but it has suffered a few set backs and a 90cc was brought for him to abuse:p

Cody and I have to write a review on the quad, so details will be in a complete other thread. he did win on it, and yes, it now needs to go back to Xtreme:p

I guess they were planning on putting that back on the showroom floor...tags and all:p

Pappy

Cody and Ryan actually did not even bring a quad this weekend as they both had new bikes to ride

Well, we wanted to show it was brand new, and he took a few easy laps on a private pitbike track at BPG to shake it down. it came back missing a part or two but nothing that kept him from riding.

Dan also surprised everyone with a new 70 foot uphill triple! This site member's weekend was cut short when he hammered the new jump and bent his axle, and both rims to unusable condition!

Pappy
08-13-2006, 06:31 PM
pgregg85 cruised out onto the track to tame the new jump

Pappy
08-13-2006, 06:33 PM
It is not a bad jump, but do not let the picture fool you, most 450's will be hard on the gas to clear it in 4th. Dan could not clear it on his 400:eek:

Pappy

Paul tamed it:devil:

Paul is a good guy...and I watched him help many riders this weekend by fixing thier quads. I wish more folks were as decent as Paul is, the world would be a better place.

Its opposite of the big downhill jump.

KH426 is heading for the new uphill as the LTR is heading for the downhill

He told Cody that biker's get all the chicks:D

08-13-2006, 06:46 PM
sorry to interupt your thread pappy...but when you were in the KTM place...did you happen to notice a price on an 06' or 07' 125sx?...im considering getting rid of my 440 and geting a bike

"Mad Matt Vansant" was ripping it up on his bike. Matt and his wife are expecting a baby any day so we all wish him, his wife and the new rug rat a big ol' congrats!!!

This weekend was a pitbike race weekend at BPG and all them nutz were out playing!

Pappy

Abbey was riding in 2 classes until her bike quit. She did real well and will be a force as she grows up trackside.....Heather Byrd better watch her self:D

Madison was riding great after a wreck had her eating dirt on saturday. Thankfully she was just shaken up and back on the seat for sundays racing! She also scored her first ever moto win! Way to go Maddy!

Pappy

There were 3 girls in all, and 1 boy in the 50cc class (we wont tell anyone its a 80 if you dont:p )

It is great seeing more and more girls involved with out sport.

Pappy

The pitbikes are great, and it is a chance for those that do not race any organized events to get thier feet wet

Pappy
08-13-2006, 07:06 PM
There is no shortage of high dollar bikes on hand

Pappy
08-13-2006, 07:07 PM
These guys flick these mini bikes all which-a-way as they rocket on to the next turn

Pappy
08-13-2006, 07:08 PM
There was not a great turn out for the 90cc class, but Cody wanted to win it just so he could say the Xtreme can be riden hard:p

It left him sitting on the line as the flag dropped:ermm:

Pappy
08-13-2006, 07:10 PM
The other 2 riders had 1/2 a lap on him when the Xtreme finally fired and Cody set out to catch the leader or send the Xtreme back to the pits in pieces:chinese:

Pappy
08-13-2006, 07:12 PM
By the end of the 1st lap he had caught 2nd and had the leader in his sights

Pappy
08-13-2006, 07:13 PM
The 1st moto went to Cody:cool:

Pappy
08-13-2006, 07:15 PM
Ryan had 4 other riders in his 50 stock class, and did his best. The 50cc KTM mini adventure actually seems much much to small for him after riding the 65:p

Pappy
08-13-2006, 07:17 PM
He went on to take 3rd in both moto's!

Pappy
08-13-2006, 07:19 PM
I think there were 17 moto's:eek2:

Pappy
08-13-2006, 07:20 PM
Some of these guys went big:p

Pappy
08-13-2006, 07:21 PM
Cody also raced a 50, finished 2nd but trashed a rear tire so he was done:p

Pappy
08-13-2006, 07:24 PM
As I walked back to the pits to check on my boys, I spotted Cody taking a break.....due to a bloody nose caused by the heat. he was fine, but rode to the line for moto 2 with blood going everywhere. The kid wont quit

Pappy
08-13-2006, 07:25 PM
Only 1 other quad showed for the 2nd moto, and the Xtreme did not leave Cody on the line this time. We would have a chance to see how it did to the first turn against a mild 2 stroke

Pappy
08-13-2006, 07:27 PM
Knowing he had blood pouring from his nose, he wanted to get this over with and flat shut the door on the other rider in the first turn.

Pappy
08-13-2006, 07:28 PM
A well executed block pass gave him the lead and he never looked back.

He told me after the race that he did not mean to snuff her so bad, but the Xtreme did not want to shift

Pappy
08-13-2006, 07:29 PM
He ran the snot out of that poor 90:p

Pappy
08-13-2006, 07:30 PM
The other rider was also 13 and she rode very well. We hope to see her back again for more fun!

Pappy
08-13-2006, 07:32 PM
CJ secured the 2nd moto win. He has some pretty enlightening things to say about his day on the Xtreme.

Pappy

ROFL !!!!

Are you like me , and prefer 4 wheels instead of 2 ??

The first dirtbike I ever tried was my buddy's YZ 426 . I dropped the clutch , which put me into one of those " run behind the bike" wheelies . My second attempt nearly put me into the side of another buddy's Ford truck . It's now 2-0 for the dirtbikes ..... and I intend on leaving it at that score !!!!

Pappy
08-13-2006, 09:43 PM
ummm, I never really thought about 2 or 4 wheels. Usually they come running as I enter the track and hand me a trophy, come to think of it they never ask what I had in the trailer:mad: :blah:

If they only knew the trailer was full of coolers with beer in them .

I'm curious to know how far away from the track you live . I see you live in West Virginia and the track is located in PA ( I think that what i remember reading). Either it's not too far of a drive , or your truck now has a LOT of miles on it . LOL

The nearest " Pro Quality" track around here is about 3 or 4 hours away . Everything else in the area ) 45 minutes or less is REALLY CRAPPY !!! Another reason why the YFZ took a hike and the Grizzly came around .

Pappy
08-13-2006, 09:56 PM
Towing my big trailer, I can make it to BPG in 50 minutes. Its only like 40 miles but most of the roads between us are single lane and winding so I have to keep the throttle back:p

I have a decent MX track 2 minutes from my front door, but since they dont support quads, I dont support them

Quad18star
08-13-2006, 10:01 PM
Ah that's pretty cool then .

I'd have to say the closest riding park ( 2 or more tracks , trails , etc) is about 7 or 8 hours away from my front door . LOL . Lots of bush to make awesome cross country tracks right out the front door though !!!!:p

Oh No....Cody got an 85..

He must be spoiled or something.....Just Kidding.

He seems to be handling it great, but I think quad guys can hold their own with the ladies...lol.

thanks for posting my pics Pappy! Yeah that was a monster triple. Too bad it ended the weekend for me but I WILL BE BACK! Dan has a great facility and tracks. I was very impressed for my first time at the proving grounds. I suggest anyone in north jersey like me to get on the road and get out there. Great staff, friendly family atmosphere and plenty of air to be had! A special thanks to you Pappy for your advice and offer to help me with the bent axle on the YFZ. It was a pleasure to meet you, your wife and the boys. I'll see you on Labor Day.

Rich

A good buddy of mine's son is racing a Xtreme 70 in the Koontz series. You probably know him, Chuck Dunn. They have only had it a few weeks but it looks nice and has been running pretty well.
