A couple months ago i bought a cannondale off of cannondaleriders. When i got the thing it ran like a beauty. Started riding around for like 2 months and let it sit, so the battery died. I replaced the battery and now the thing is running extremely hot. Anybody know whats going on?

if you mean the impeller, you should check it because the stock one is plastic and may need to be replaced with an aluminum one

First of all how do you know it's running hot?? If the fan is always on that is normal.. The fan comes on at 179 degrees and shuts off at 159...

Make sure your coolant level is good. My dad has one and the coolant eats the magnesium and then it leaks. Upgrade to a ll aluminum head instead of mag.

You need to richen up the flowrate.. You need the D&M computer program...The D&M costs 300, but you can put different maps in for your type of riding conditions as well as change the flowrate/mainjet..Go to Cannondale.com and ask for some help from somebody in your area..

The headpipe was glowing red?

Thats not really a big deal.

My old 400ex had the red glow @ night.

I mean its night time, that stuff stands out more than the day time.

Also the crackling is normal..Mine does it..my ex did it...Its just the hot mteals cooling down.

Don't be so worried about it..I am sure just changing a battery doesn't cause the bike to run hot.

I mean never caued kine to in the past 2yrs of owning it.
